Neve Campbell is officially returning to the “Scream” franchise.
This will be Campbell’s fifth time playing Sidney Prescott in the franchise, and she’s in good company. Her former co-stars David Arquette and Courteney Cox are also set to return as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers.
New cast members will also join the fold, including Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.
Neve shared her excitement in a statement, saying, “I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.” She had previously told “Extra” she had been approached about the film. Watch our interview!
Filming will take place in North Carolina and the movie is set to premiere January 14, 2022.
The first “Scream” movie was released in 1996, following Sidney and her friends as they were terrorized by a masked killer. Three more films followed, along with a series on MTV.
