Singer Ariana Grande and rapper Mac Miller have called it quits after almost two years of dating.
TMZ reports that Grande and Miller broke up due to their busy schedules. A source emphasized that they'll remain close friends.
On Thursday, Ariana wrote on Instagram, "I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us! Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it's not you.”
Along with calling him a "best friend," Grande added, "I can't wait to know you and support you forever and I'm so proud of you!!”
Last month, Miller expressed how “proud” he was of Ariana, who had just released her single “No Tears Left to Cry.” He tweeted, “Welcome back. We missed you. One of a kind.”
Last year, Miller was by Grande's side after the devastating suicide bombing that took place at her Manchester show.
The pair was last spotted together in March, when they attended Madonna's Oscar after-party.
Before they dated, Ariana and Mac collaborated on the songs “The Way” and “My Favorite Part.” She told Cosmopolitan last year, “I met him when I was 19. We have loved and adored and respected each other since the beginning, since before we even met, just because we were fans of each other's talent. We weren't ready at all, though, to be together. It's just timing. We both needed to experience some things, but the love has been there the whole time.”
Days before the split news broke, Ariana stepped out solo at the Met Gala.
