Andy Cohen on Canceled ‘RHONJ’ Reunion & Recasting Rumors (Exclusive)
Andy Cohen celebrated 15 years of “Watch What Happens Live” at the 2024 Tribeca Festival.
“Extra” spoke with Andy about the anniversary special, teasing, "We're gonna get some of our favorites from the 'Watch What Happens Live' canon and Bravo canon to help us look back on 15 amazing years."
Andy is also crossing his fingers for an Emmy nod, saying, "Hopefully Emmy voters will vote for us, and if they don't, hopefully y'all will just keep watching us."
As for his favorite "WWHL" moment so far, he shared, "I think it was when Oprah was there. It was a very big deal for me personally and professionally and I just, it meant a lot to me."
Turning to some Bravo business, Andy explained why “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” won't have a traditional reunion for Season 14, saying, “When you see the finale, you’ll see. I mean, I think the finale, kind of, is a finale and a reunion all in one.”
As for the recasting rumors, Andy noted that “no decisions have been made,” adding, “We’re nowhere close to making any decisions.”
He stressed, “Don’t believe anything you read right now," and promised, "The rest of the season is great. I'm excited for everyone to see it."
When asked about the end of the season and if there is any hope for Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice, Andy commented, “None at all.”
Porsha Williams is coming back to “RHOA,” with Andy noting, “We’re in production now.” Without spoiling anything, he said, “You just gotta wait and see.”
Cohen also weighed in on “Vanderpump Rules,” which is taking a pause, causing many to speculate on the future of the show. While he’s no longer a producer, he said, “I don’t think there’s any great mystery about taking a beat and re-evaluating and letting people go live their lives.”
Responding to some people criticizing Season 11 for seeming "forced," Andy insisted, "I thought it was a great season." He added, "We rushed into production because a lot was going on, but I thought it was quite captivating."
On the “RHOBH” front, Andy shared that Kyle Richards’ rumored divorce from Mauricio Umansky will continue to play out. "We're in production right now, so there's not much more I can say," he offered.
Cohen revealed his Father’s Day plans, saying, “I will be celebrating by spending a lot of time in my car driving back from the beach with the kids, so I’ll be ready to celebrate when I get back into town.”
