Nick Cordero’s Wife Amanda Kloots Slams Trump for His COVID-19 Comments
Months after Nick Cordero died from COVID-19 complications, his wife Amanda Kloots is calling out President Trump for his latest comments on the virus.
On Monday, Trump was released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after being treated for coronavirus symptoms. Ahead of his departure, he tweeted, “Feeling really good! Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”
In response to his tweet, Kloots wrote on Instagram, “To all the over 208,000 Americans who lost loved ones to this virus - I stand by you, with you, holding your hand. Unfortunately it did dominate our lives didn't it?"

View StoryTrump's tweet was a punch to the gut for Kloots, who documented Cordero's COVID-19 battle for months until he passed away in July. She said, “It dominated Nick's family's lives and my family's lives. I guess we 'let it' - like it was our choice?? Unfortunately not everyone is lucky enough to spend two days in the hospital. I cried next to my husband for 95 days watching what COVID did to the person I love."
“It IS something to be afraid of,” Amanda insisted. “After you see the person you love the most die from this disease you would never say what this tweet says. There is no empathy to all the lives lost. He is bragging instead. It is sad. It is hurtful. It is disgraceful.”
Nick, 41, was admitted to a hospital in late March with COVID-19 and suffered many setbacks, including a medically induced coma, amputated leg, and lung infections.
“Captain America” star Chris Evans also expressed his displeasure over Trump's comments, tweeting, “Don't be afraid of Covid?! You've been under round-the-clock care by the best doctors using the best drugs. Do you really think everyone has access to that?! Sadly, I'm sure you're aware of that disparity, you just don't care. This is reckless to a shocking degree, even for you."

Don't be afraid of covid? Tell that to the 210,000 families who have lost loved ones. To the Black, Brown and Indigenous folks disproportionately affected. With tens of millions of jobs lost and the economy tanked. Many of us isolated for months. You're the cruelest. #votehimout https://t.co/QhM47Pa3lx

The 207,000 Americans who died didn't have access to a team of 20 doctors and leading experimental treatments.

Many people didn't know they had it until it was too late, were intubated suddenly & died soon after, leaving behind their sons, daughters, spouses and loved ones.
210 thousand dead - a deranged trump Tried to dramatize Covid as a two day reality show cliffhanger success story - a Mussolini puppet show
@johncusack
Today, while on a cocktail of drugs he has told people not to be afraid of covid, while also calling for an “Army for Trump” to “fight” for him at polling stations. THIS IS NOT ALRIGHT. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY. THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS.
