Last night, Beyoncé stole the show at the 2016 MTV VMAs at Madison Square Garden!
Queen Bey wowed the star-studded crowd with a 16-minute performance, singing songs from her recent album, including "Pray You Catch Me," "Holy Up," "Sorry," "Don't Hurt Yourself," and “Formation.”
She also took home eight awards, including Video of the Year for “Formation.” While wearing a Yolan Cris dress, she made sure to thank her family in her acceptance speech, saying, "First of all, I'd like to thank my beautiful daughter and my incredible husband for all of their support.”

Aside from Beyoncé, Britney Spears made her big MTV VMAs comeback, performing her hit song “Make Me…” with G-Eazy. It was her first time performing at the star-studded show since 2007. During their performance, Britney appeared to turn down a kissing moment from the rapper with a head shake. After the performance, many took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Britney's rejection.

Calvin Harris also snubbed ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, even though neither attended the show. He won Best Male Video his his recent hit song, "This Is What You Came For,” which was co-written by Taylor. In a video, he said, "Wow, wow! First of all, I'm so sorry I can't be there. I have a show tonight in the U.K. or else I would definitely be there. MTV, this is crazy. I need to thank Rihanna from the bottom of my heart. You're a superstar. Every time we worked together, you bring something so magical to the project, so thank you.” He also thanked video director Emil Nava and “everybody who's supported this song.”
Though Calvin couldn't be at the show, some of the biggest Olympians were able to attend, including Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian. When Phelps took the stage, he referenced his mean mug meme from the Olympics, which went viral. He told the audience, "If there's been one thing that's been constant through my entire career, it's the motivation and inspiration that I get from hip-hop. Remember in Rio when I made that face that ended up all over the Internet? I was in the zone with Future's track 'Stick Talk' blaring in my headphones."
