Authorities Say Drugs Were Found at Prince’s Home
UPDATE: Carver County Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud is disputing claims that the DEA is involved in the investigation, according to the Associated Press.
The Drug Enforcement Administration has joined the investigation into Prince's death, reports NBC.
Federal officials said that prescription painkillers were found in Prince's possession when he died, and at his Minnesota home.
The DEA will investigate where the drugs came from, and whether Prince had prescriptions for them. At this time it is unknown if the drugs had any connection to his death.
TMZ says that Prince was treated for a Percocet overdose less than a week before he died.
Meanwhile, sources told People that Prince relied on Percocet for years to battle hip pain.
