Though Aretha Franklin had been battling pancreatic cancer for years, she passed away without writing a will.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, they noted that she died “intestate,” meaning she left no will.
According to Michigan law, Aretha's four children will equally divide her estate. As a result, her son Clarence, who has special needs, may not get additional support.
