Tim is also ready to get out of the house to play some new music with this first solo album in five years, “Here on Earth.” The first single, “I Called Mama” honors his own mother. Talking about the song, Tim said, “It was cool because my mom went through a lot growing up. We got to use a picture of my mom in high school for the artwork. She had taken that picture right before she found out she was pregnant with me.” Tim joked, “I sort of ruined her senior year in high school. I've been trying to make up for it ever since.”
On Friday, fans can join a livestream party to celebrate his new album. Billed as a one-of-a-kind livestream event, it will give fans a rare inside look at the release of “Here on Earth” and will be live from Nashville. Fans will be able to come along with McGraw as he chats with songwriters, interacts with the band and reveals the stories behind the new songs. Tim will play some old favorites along with some new tracks.
