“Extra’s” Renee Bargh was on the set of “BH90210” in Vancouver with stars Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green, Ian Ziering, and Gabrielle Carteris.
The cast was missing Luke Perry, who died of a stroke in March.
Jason explained, “Luke was a big personality and he took up a lot of space, and he took up a lot of space in this group. I think we all feel the vacancy of his absence.”
Tori said they want to honor him, “We definitely want to honor him. It was important to all of us.” Jennie added, “It's very difficult, but I do know that he's with us. I see little messages from him, and his energy is here.”
The “90210” reboot is not your typical one. The cast plays versions of their real-life selves as they reunite to make a reboot of their '90s TV drama. Jason said, “I play Jason Priestley and he plays Ian Ziering, but I'm saying dialogue that is written for me by a team of writers.”
Gabrielle said, “We don't want a traditional reboot. We want to do something...” Brian interjected, “Something fun.”
Jennie joked, “Everyone just looks older.” Tori commented, “We're just missing Shannen [Doherty], who will be with us soon storyline wise... that's why she's not here right now.”
La La Anthony is joining the cast as Brian’s wife. She previously told “Extra” she got approval from his wife Megan Foxx before taking the roll. Brian confirmed, “She did.”
Check out the fun when “BH90210” premieres August 7 on FOX.
