Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani made it a family affair, stepping out with her kids for the premiere of his new animated movie "UglyDolls" Saturday at Regal Cinemas L.A.
Blake was with "Extra's" Terri Seymour, saying, "It’s a rare thing for Gwen and I to even get out at all. We don’t really get a chance to do anything. One of the two of us are working or the kids are in school — it just never works out for us to all go out. We get to do it about four or five times a year — this is one of them."
The country superstar said, "It’s cool that it's this project — the kids are super excited about this movie. I’m excited for them, because it’s such a great message."
Smiling, he observed, "My cool points went up with this one."
Blake plays Ox in the movie. “He’s the official Mayor of Uglyville," he said, "and he has a big secret... you figure out he has been hiding for a long time. He did it for the right reasons.”
Joking about identifying with his doll, Blake humbly said, "He’s super ugly for one thing. He has a big belly hangin' off him.”
"UglyDolls" is in theaters May 3.
