“CBS This Morning” host Gayle King has a lot to say about the midterm elections!
Last night, “Extra’s” AJ Calloway caught up with King at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Benefit, where she opened up about BFF Oprah Winfrey, who is campaigned for Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams for governor.
While she tries very hard to stay out of politics, King shared, “This is the thing, AJ, Stacey didn't even ask her… Oprah called and volunteered, Oprah called and volunteered and said, 'Hey, do you need my help? is there anything I can do?'"
She smiled, adding, “If Oprah calls to volunteer, I would say ‘Yes please.’”
King emphasized the importance of voting, saying, “This feels like a presidential election... this is a very, very big deal… It's a very important time in our country.”
Pointing out that every vote counts, Gayle said, “Even if you cast your vote and it doesn’t go the way you want it to go, people are looking at the margins coming in and it is sending a message in this country to everyone that is watching.”
