Over the weekend, “Extra” caught up was with former "Real Housewives of New York City" star Jill Zarin at her sixth annual luxury luncheon in the Hamptons.
Jill hosted loved ones and her famous friends at the Topping Rose hotel, dedicating the event to her late husband Bobby. Of the “bittersweet” occasion, with proceeds going to International Thyroid Oncology Group, she said, “There's a lot of Bobby Zarin here tonight.”
She said she felt Bobby's presence there, saying, “We were very well prepared for Bobby and what was going on.” He was on hand at the event last year, but passed away in January.
The night before the event, it rained on the venue for three hours. She pointed out that “he held the rain.”
Jill is moving on after his death, explaining, “Bobby would want me to happy.”
The 54-year-old confirmed that she's dating someone, but isn't calling him her new love yet. She said, “New like, we'll start with new like.”
She went on to say, “It's time. We started out as friends and, you know, that's what Bobby wanted for me, he was very adamant about it.”
As for whether Bobby would approve her new man, she said all her friends say yes and her daughter Ally also approves. Jill shared, “She likes him.”
Jill was joined by Housewives from the various Bravo franchises, but someone who was not there was her BFF Luann de Lesseps, who was recently readmitted to a rehab facility. Zarin revealed, “She texted me this morning, 'Good luck today.' She was supposed to be here… She's getting better, she is getting well.”
