Jessica Simpson is expanding her empire!

The singer and businesswoman is launching a new beauty line, making an appearance at L.A.’s Beautycon, where she talked to “Extra’s” Mark Wright.

Simpson, sporting her signature blonde locks days after posing for pics with red hair for her 38th birthday, told Mark, “I was turning 38 and I needed to feel like a vixen. I needed to sex it up a little bit, so my name was Vivian for the evening."

She laughed, confirming, "I would not do it permanently, but it was definitely fun to play around with a wig. My daughter was happy when I took it off the next day... but I did hang on to it for a full night!"

Her husband Eric Johnson liked the look! Jessica confessed, "Eric loved Vivian — Vivian is going to have to make an appearance again."

The mommy of two also explained the video she recently posted on social media of her son Ace in the pool doing a somersault in a cast. She caught flak for that, but said, "I posted Ace in the pool with a cast on because there is really no stopping a child, that’s him, he only has to have the cast on for three weeks, he was in the pool that day. I don’t even know if the cast molded on to him yet. Listen, it makes him happy and it’s kids being kids. He is in my husband’s hands. I know he’s okay."

Her message to the mommy shamers? "If people were in that situation, if they had a husband like mine, they would feel comfortable."

Jess is already a fashion mogul via her Jessica Simpson Collection, and she's launching her beauty line with a range of makeup brushes. "Makeup brushes to me are like a good pair of shoes," she said. "We started the collection with shoes, so to come into beauty, starting with brushes, is awesome."

The beauty space seems a perfect fit for the glamorous CEO. “I like all kinds of beauty," she said. "I like natural beauty and I love overdone beauty... It’s definitely an art."
