'Extra' Exclusive: How Simon Cowell’s Son Motivates Him
"Extra's" Terri Seymour sat down for an exclusive interview with Simon Cowell at his home in Beverly Hills, where he promoted the upcoming 13th season of the hit reality competition show "America's Got Talent."
At home with his 4-year-old son Eric and girlfriend Lauren Silverman, Simon pointed out that it's his son who keeps him motivated! He explained, "I actually think it's the best incentive I've ever had to keep everything running as well as I possibly can."
Could Eric take over running his empire someday? Simon said, "I would do with him what my dad did. I would have him start as an intern, learn the job. The idea that one day he could be doing this or something similar, I would love that."
Cowell shared about his adorable mini me, "He says please and thank you. He's not a brat, he's kind. He actually cracks me up — he can really, really make me laugh, because we have a very similar sense of humor! He's so competitive, the most competitive person I've ever met in my life!"
As for the new season of “AGT,” the executive producer and judge of the show revealed what will be bigger and better this season, saying, "The live shows. Maybe we'll try something different on the live shows we haven't done before. I just think the contestants need to grow more throughout the show. It has to be about surprises."
"America's Got Talent" returns for Season 13 Tuesday, May 29, on NBC.
