Maksim Chmerkovskiy Makes a Big ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Return Announcement
Weeks after his calf injury, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is making his highly anticipated return to “Dancing with the Stars” next week!
After his partner Heather Morris performed a “Frozen"-themed jazz routine with Alan Bersten on Monday, Maksim joked, "Alan's officially fired! I'm taking over as of tonight.” Bersten has been subbing for Chmerkovskiy for the past month.
At the end of March, Maksim underwent surgery after the injury, writing on Instagram, "Gettin' un-broken.”
He opened up about his road to recovery, telling People magazine, "I'm walking now. I'm making strides a little faster than expected. I'm hoping for like a full comeback end of this week… My goal is next week. This week I just don't want to do something stupid and regret it. I want to do the right thing. If this is the result of one week then I'm sure I'll be more than ready.”
Ahead of Maksim's big announcement, Heather's horror short film “The Cleansing Hour” had its online premiere. Watch!
