Kim Kardashian Held Up at Gunpoint in Paris, $10 Million in Valuables Stolen
CNN reports that Kim Kardashian was held up at gunpoint in Paris Sunday evening.
Kim's spokesperson Ina Treciokas told CNN, "Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed."
TMZ clarifies the official statement, reporting that Kim was targeted by five armed robbers, two of whom bound and gagged her in the bathtub of what People magazine reports was the No Address Hotel. According to TMZ, the robbers knew exactly what they were doing, and forced the concierge to give them access to Kim's unit, which was featured on a 2014 episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
The men reportedly stole roughly $10 million worth of jewelry, including a ring and jewelry box. E! reports the reality star begged for her life during the harrowing ordeal.
Following questioning by police, Kim has already left Paris for home.
Kanye West had stunned fans at a concert at the Meadows Festival in New York Sunday night when he abruptly ended his set after a man ran onstage and gave the rapper some mysterious news, which turned out to be word of Kim's traumatic ordeal.
In the middle of the song "Heartless," Kanye said, "I'm sorry... I'm sorry, can you stop it?" to his crew, and then told the crowd, "I'm sorry, there's a family emergency — I have to stop the show."
His exit ended the show at after less than an hour, with about 20 minutes left to go. A source told People, "She was just hysterical when she talked to Kanye. He said she was really upset and it took him a few seconds to understand what she was saying to him. He wanted to get to her as soon as he could. He told her that he couldn't care less about the jewelry; he's just thankful that she's okay."
"'Ye says that it all hit her after the guys had left, and then it sunk in. It took her a little bit of time to pull it together. Of course her family is all there for her, and Kanye is there for her, too, but she's going to deal with the aftermath of this for a while," the insider added.
Aside from Kim, Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian were also in Paris for Fashion Week.
Just before Kim was robbed, she was spotted grabbing dinner with her sis Kourtney at a dinner honoring fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa.
