Michelle Dockery Says Goodbye to Fiancé at Memorial Service in Ireland
Last night, “Downton Abbey” star Michelle Dockery bid farewell to her fiancé John Dineen in his native Ireland, where he passed away at age 34 on Sunday after losing his battle to cancer.
Dockery was joined at the memorial service by Dineen's parents and hundreds of mourners at the Church of St. James in Ballinora, where the PR executive had grown up.
It is rumored that Michelle has been staying at Dineen's family farm, near the church, since last Thursday after cutting her “Downton Abbey” promotional tour short to be by his bedside.
John will be laid to rest at a private funeral today. Councillor Mary Shields, a local representative, said to People about his death, "He was so very handsome, a beautiful young man. It's heart-wrenching to see a young couple separated like this. They had their whole lives in front of them. It's so tragic and so sad."
She continued, "The whole community will want to reach out and console the family.”
