'The Bachelor' Finale: Who Did Chris Soules Choose... and Did He Pop the Question?
“The Bachelor” star Chris Soules has found his soul mate... and it's Whitney Bischoff.
In the Season 19 finale on Monday night, Soules returned to his Iowa home to discuss things with his family. “Their opinion is really important to me," the farmer said. "I am dating two extremely awesome girls and I feel like I'm falling in love with both of them. I've got an extremely tough decision to make... I have no idea what I'm going to do.”
Both Whitney and Becca Tilley then traveled to Iowa and met with Chris' family, but it became clear Whitney, a nurse, was the one who really connected with the Soules family.
In the final rose ceremony, Chris told a stunned Becca she wasn't “ready” to be with him. In an impressively classy moment, she thanked Soules for his honesty, and told him he is going to be a great husband.
Then Whitney arrived and Chris told her, “It's not work for us, it's natural… It feels so right, it feels so perfect and that's what I want for the rest of my life. I love you. Everything about this moment feels right and I want the world to know that I love you, Whitney Bischoff. Will you marry me?” presenting her a Neil Lane engagement ring.
She gasped, “Absolutely! Oh my god… I love you so much. I'm the luckiest girl in the entire world."
The couple are the cover of this week's People magazine, and they talked about how it's great to be out in the open with their relationship. "I'm relieved that this is over," said Bischoff. "I'm looking forward to the life that we're going to start. I think a lot of great things are going to happen."
As for the wedding plans, Whitney said, "I don't think you can put a time limit on something like that. When we feel it, it will happen." Soules added, "We had this great love story that now we get to build upon and start a new love story in real life."
