Viola Davis Has a Suggestion for Who Meryl Streep Could Play in ‘How to Get Away with Murder’

“Extra's” Renee Bargh sat down with Viola Davis to talk about her new movie “Blackhat,” and about her hit ABC show “How to Get Away with Murder,” for which she is nominated for a Golden Globe.
Davis was delighted to find out that Meryl Streep is a huge fan of the show, and offered, “If she is watching this, I would love her to come on and play my mother-in-law. Come on, Meryl, play my mother-in-law! I mean where else but in Shondaland would Meryl Streep be my mother-in-law?”
Streep and Davis starred together in “Doubt,” the 2008 big-screen adaptation of the Broadway play.
As for the new Michael Mann thriller “Blackhat,” in which she plays an FBI agent trying to track down a mystery hacker wreaking havoc, the actress said it has changed the way she does things online.
She explained, “I have this rule now, before I do anything, even send an email, I think about it beforehand. There have been so many emails I've actually written and before I press send, I think about it, re-read it, erase some things and decide not to send it… I stopped shopping online.”
Viola also addressed rumors she is set to play a villain in the upcoming DC Comics movie “Suicide Squad.” She said, “We'll see if I'm playing a supervillain… a really bad woman. I like this whole period in my life where people see me as this anti-hero. I've always been nurturing, which I am, I believe in real life, but I've been having fun playing the other side of it.”
