Actress Kirstie Alley is proudly showing off her slimmer physique after losing 50 pounds on Jenny Craig.
Making an appearance on the “Today” show on Monday, Alley told Matt Lauer, "I have an easy time gaining weight, and I actually have an easy time losing weight. This time it's different. My goal is to keep this and maintain this throughout my life… I feel like I've conquered that now. I'm sort of hardheaded. You know, when I used to do drugs, it took me a while to quit, quit, quit — and then it was done. And I feel like that's occurred for me [with my weight now]."
The “Dancing with the Stars” alum only intended to lose 30 pounds when she began the diet in April, but she ended up dropping 50 pounds, going from a size 12 or 14 to a size 6 to 8.
Alley told People.com. "There's this certain place I hit where I felt really energetic and agile. I was like, I want to keep going with this!"
She said one way she's keeping the weight off is by biking. "I got a yellow townie bike and I ride over to friends' houses. I bribe people. I'll say, let's ride to this restaurant and I'll pay for dinner. And believe me: If I bike four miles to a restaurant, I don't wreck it with my order!"
It's part of her overall strategy to do what worked well for her in the past to ensure future success. "I want it to be part of my life this time," Kirstie said. "I'm just trying to make it fun.”
