Actress Reese Witherspoon did an interview with Red magazine before her arrest last week for disorderly conduct, in which she says that having baby Tennessee with husband Jim Toth made her lose her mind a little.
Reese also talked to the mag about how women should be proud of their success. “As women, we shrug and smile and say, ‘Oh...me?’ because it makes it socially acceptable for us to be successful… We need to let successful women show off and support them… Because who’s going to believe in you more than yourself? Other than, maybe, your mother.”
The Oscar winner credits the support of her best girlfriends, like Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore, for helping her cope with tough times.
“I don’t know what I would have done so many times in my life if I hadn’t had my girlfriends,” said Witherspoon. “They have literally gotten me up out of bed, taken my clothes off, put me in the shower, dressed me, said, ‘Hey, you can do this,’ put my high heels on and pushed me out the door! But you do have to work at friendships as much as you would any relationship.”
