MTV Cancels 'Buckwild' Following Shain Gandee’s Death

“Buckwild” has reportedly been cancelled by MTV in the wake of Shain Gandee's tragic death earlier this month. A formal announcement is expected Wednesday morning.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, MTV had temporarily suspended filming and ultimately decided to cancel the production, indirectly acknowledging that Shain was the series' breakout star.
Friends and family gathered at Charleston Municipal Auditorium in West Virginia on Sunday to remember the reality star. Supporters at the funeral paid tribute to the 21-year-old by wearing camouflage and neon “Gandee Candy” t-shirts.
Shain, his Uncle David Gandee and another passenger were found dead in Shain's 1984 Bronco in Sissonville, West Virginia on April 1. Carbon monoxide was reportedly to blame.
The Bronco appeared to be stuck in a mud hole with the tail pipe submerged. Authorities believe gas may have filled the cabin due to the blocked pipe.
Shain was last heard from around 3AM on March 31, when he and his uncle were expected to go 4-wheeling.
