Message to Beliebers: Please Don’t Throw Acid on Olivia Wilde
Actress Olivia Wilde really stepped in it when she tweeted at teen sensation Justin Bieber to put a shirt on.
After photos of the Biebs surfaced in London a few weeks ago, walking around with no shirt on and pants down around his knees, Wilde tweeted, "Bieber, put your f*****g shirt on (unless you lost all your shirts in a fire in which case my condolences and please purchase a new shirt.)"
Wilde's tweet sparked some serious ire from Beliebers, who sent roughly 17,000 hate tweets to the actress, one of whom told her, "i'll punch you in your face."
In an interview with CNN to promote her indie movie “Drinking Buddies” at SXSW, the soon-to-be Mrs. Jason Sudeikis jokingly confessed she’s afraid Bieber’s rabid fans are going to go after her with face-melting chemicals.
Wilde laughed, "I'm going to get attacked with acid, someone's going to throw acid in my face. If that happens, there are 35 million Beliebers that did it, so find them."
She really didn't mean any harm by the tweet. Olivia explained, "You know, it's something I'd say to my little brother, and I probably have said it. You know, just, 'Put your shirt on. It's cold out there.' I meant it with all the love in the world… It's pretty much the funniest thing that's ever happened to me, because my Twitter feed is filled with the most hilarious abuse."
Wilde will next be seen in the comedy “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” popping up in theaters this Friday. Plus, check out behind-the-scenes footage of Olivia's Revlon Luxurious ColorSilk Buttercream commercial. For more information, go to the official website!
