Fasten Your Seat Belts for 'Where in the World is Matt Lauer?'
"Today" co-host Matt Lauer embarks on his 10th week-long trip in a segment called "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?"
Beginning Monday, Matt's big adventure kicks off with the journalist hitting five mystery cities in five days. Lauer did give a clue about his trip, based on the clothing he plans to wear, saying, "I won't be wearing a bathing suit on day one. There will probably be a parka sometime during the week."
In past years, Matt has turned up in such far-flung spots as Mt. Everest, in Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat and the Panama Canal.
Lauer also answered a few hot topic questions for "Extra." AJ Calloway sat down with Lauer and asked what he thought about the Madoffs, and whether he believes the family was clueless about the Ponzi scheme.
Matt replied, "It's not my job to believe or not to believe. It's my job to ask the questions and let the people at home decide. Clearly that family has been torn apart in a lot of ways by what Bernie Madoff did, and I think that is going to be the legacy he leaves behind."
Lauer also recalled Southern chef Paula Deen making him blush on "Today," saying, "She fondled me... she almost made out with me! She's a very provocative woman. You don't expect it, but she is, and she caught me off guard."
