"Gidget" (1959)

Due to an accident while swimming in the sea, Francis meets the surfer Moondoggy. She’s fascinated of his sport and starts to hang out with his clique. Although they make fun of her at first, they teach her to surf. Soon she’s accepted and given the nickname “Gidget”. But it’s hard work to become more than a friend to Moondoggy.

"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (2008)

When Sarah Marshall dumps aspiring musician Peter Bretter for rock star Aldous Snow, Peter’s world comes crashing down. His best friend suggests that Peter should get away from everything and to fly off to Hawaii to escape all his problems. After arriving in Hawaii and meeting the beautiful Rachel Jansen, Peter is shocked to see not only Aldous Snow in Hawaii, but also Sarah Marshall.

In the coastal town of Los Angeles, a gang of bank robbers call themselves the “ex-presidents”. The F.B.I. believes that the members of the gang could be surfers and send young agent Johnny Utah undercover at the beach to mix with the surfers and gather information. Utah meets surfer Bodhi and gets drawn into the lifestyle of his new friend.

"Jaws" (1975)

A Great White Shark decides to make the small beach resort town of Amity his private feeding grounds. This greatly frustrates the town police chief who wants to close the beaches to chase the shark away. He is thwarted in his efforts by the town’s mayor who finally relents when nothing else seems to work and the chief, a scientist, and an old fisherman with revenge on his mind take to the sea to kill the beast.

In the fourth of the highly successful Frankie and Annette beach party movies, a motorcycle gang led by Eric Von Zipper kidnaps singing star Sugar Kane managed by Bullets, who hires sky-diving surfers Steve and Bonnie from Big Drop for a publicity stunt. With the usual gang of kids and a mermaid named Lorelei, this movie is a fail-proof classic!

"Blue Crush" (2002)

Nothing gets between Anne Marie and her board. Living in a beach shack with three roommates including her rebellious younger sister, she is up before dawn every morning to conquer the waves and count the days until the Pipe Masters surf competition. Having transplanted herself to Hawaii with no one’s blessing but her own, Anne Marie finds all she needs in the adrenaline-charged surf scene.

"The Beach" (2000)

Twenty-something Richard, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, travels to Thailand and finds himself in possession of a strange map. Rumors state that it leads to a solitary beach paradise, a tropical bliss – excited and intrigued, Robert sets out to find it.

While John is on leave in his hometown, he finds Savannah, a college student visiting the town. With the knowledge of John having to leave for the army, their love still lives, until he re-enrolls due to the 9/11 attack. Troubles invade and their love is put on hold.
