'Dreamgirls' Shines During Holiday Season
It's got some of the biggest names in the business.
“To have that type of talent on the set, I don't care if you're playing jacks, you want to be a part of it,” co-star Jamie Foxx said.
Oscar winner Jamie joined Eddie Murphy and Beyoncé to light up the big screen in “Dreamgirls.”
“I know that I was born for this role, and I had to do it,” Beyoncé admitted.
Now, only “Extra” takes you inside the making of “Dreamgirls,” from the set to the Cannes Film Festival, where a 20-minute teaser had audiences on their feet and reviews generating Oscar talk!
Bootylicious Beyoncé lost 20 pounds to play her Diana Ross-esque role, while Eddie Murphy admitted that his divorce made him a better actor in the film.
“American Idol” vet Jennifer Hudson, who has the musical's most powerful song, will become a real American idol after her performance, which has already earned her rave reviews.
From Oprah to Halle Barry and Barry Manilow, the stars have nothing but praise for Hudson, and the starlet spilled secrets to “Extra” about her audition process: she beat out hundreds to nab the coveted role!
“Beat out 782, but who's counting?” she laughed.
“It's going to knock your wig off,” Jamie Foxx promised. “Just grab your popcorn.”
The dream begins in theaters Christmas Day.
