Kanye West's Epic Rant on 'Ellen': 'I'm Sorry for the Realness'
On Thursday's episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show," rapper Kanye West does what he does best... rant!
When Ellen asked him about his $53 million plea to Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, it led him on a lengthy rant about society. He said, "It's like 'The Pursuit of Happyness,' like it's like you're trying to sell this bone density machine or something, you know in that movie? I feel that if I had more resources, I could help more people. I have ideas that can make the human race's existence within our 100 years better. Period. F*ck the paparazzi—whatever perception you have of me, starting with the truth. Starting with what everyone's thinking. Start there. Put some dope sh*t with it."
He went on, "We're not in a place where people can only have one career, one profession throughout their entire life. I see the importance in the value of everyone being able to experience a more beautiful life.” Watch!
Kanye also included the Oscars controversy in his tirade. He pointed out, "I didn't take the Oscars as a joke. It was the moment like, 'all black actors can talk about the glass ceilings we've dealt with out in this town. You get your night... talk about how many times you've been blocked from being able to excel."
Before ending his rant, West referenced Michael Jackson, whose music videos were not initially played on MTV. "I have to be Michael Jackson of apparel in order to break open the doors for everyone that will come after I'm gone, after I'm dead, after they call me wacko Kanye. Isn't that so funny that people point fingers at the people who have influenced us the most? They talk the most sh*t about the people who care the most. I'm sorry daytime television. I'm sorry for the realness.”
While Kanye was on his diatribe, his wife Kim Kardashian was flying back to Los Angeles. She was in Cannes for a hot second for the De Grisogono Party, which was also attended by her mom Kris Jenner.
