'Bachelor' Contestant Lex McAllister's Cause of Death Revealed
She died in February, and now "Extra" has the results from Alexa “Lex” McAllister's autopsy report.
According to Ohio's Franklin County Coroner's Office the former “Bachelor” contestant died from a drug overdose due to acute intoxication by the combined effects of amlodipine and acetaminophen. Her death has been ruled a suicide.
The 31-year-old was found unconscious at a home in Columbus, Ohio in February and rushed to the hospital. McAllister was initially in stable condition, but her body began to shut down. Her family later decided to take her off life support, and McAllister passed away.
A family member told TMZ that she had suffered from depression and bipolar disorder.
McAllister, a business development expert, franchise consultant and entrepreneur, appeared on the same season of “The Bachelor” as Jake Pavelka. She went home the first week.
Following her death, Jake paid tribute to her on Twitter, writing, "I'm so sad to hear about Alexa. Such a beautiful girl. My heart breaks for her family. Covering them in prayer during this rough time."
