Singer Michelle Williams Posts Letter to Fans After Checking Into Mental Health Facility

Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams checked into a mental health facility near Los Angeles, reports TMZ. The singer is apparently seeking help in her battle with depression, and has been there for several days.
On Tuesday, she opened up to fans on Instagram, saying, "For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing."
Williams added, “I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals.”

The note continued, "Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need."
She ended the post with a message, “If you change your mind, you can change your life.”
Last year, while on “The Talk,” Michelle shared her struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts, saying she hoped to “normalize this mental health discussion.”
When asked how bad it got, she replied, “I was suicidal. I was to that place where it gets so dark and heavy… I wanted out.”
