Kendall Jenner Faces Alleged Stalker in Court: ‘I’ve Never Been So Scared'
Last night, model Kendall Jenner stepped out in front of the cameras a few hours after seeing her alleged stalker in court.
Jenner was seen heading to dinner at celeb hot spot Catch in West Hollywood with a bodyguard by her side. Later that night, she was also seen attending the What Goes Around Comes Around store opening.
Earlier in the day, Jenner testified against her accused stalker Shavaughn McKenzie, who was arrested outside her Hollywood Hills home in August and charged with misdemeanor stalking and trespassing. In court, Kendall told the jury about the incident, “I never got out of my car. I was terrified. I was literally traumatized. I started honking at him... I just wanted to make sure I saw wherever he went. He got out of the gate and I drove down the hill."
The August incident wasn't the first time that Jenner had encountered McKenzie, who has allegedly confronted her twice at her Westwood condo. She recognized him as the same man who has “been following me for a couple of years.”
If McKenzie is convicted, he could face up to six months behind bars. His lawyer argued that McKenzie suffers from a severe mental illness and was unarmed when he allegedly banged on Kendall's car window as she was pulling into her West Hollywood home. Kendall recalled about frightening face-to-face encounter, "I was crying, I was screaming, I was freaking out. I didn't know what his intentions were. I was freaking out. I was frightened for sure.”
As for how McKenzie has affected her life, Jenner said, "I've never been so scared in my life... It's definitely put me even more on edge. I definitely don't feel safe in my own house anymore.”
Kendall was granted a permanent restraining order against McKenzie for the next five years.
Testimony will continue on Monday.
