Toni Braxton Hospitalized
“Unbreak My Heart” singer Toni Braxton was recently hospitalized… but what happened?
Toni's rep told E! News, "Toni is resting at home and she is fine. She was in an L.A. hospital for a few days, being treated for her Lupus. She has been released and starts rehearsals for her upcoming tour this week. She was not in serious condition, though Lupus is a serious disease and must be monitored at all times.”
Back in 2012, Braxton was also sent to a Los Angeles hospital for issues relating to lupus.
Last year, Toni opened up about life after being diagnosed with the disease in 2010. She shared with Huffington Post, "Some days I can't balance it all. I just have to lay in bed. Pretty much when you have lupus you feel like you have the flu every day. But some days you get through it. But for me, if I'm not feeling well, I tend to tell my kids, 'Oh mommy's just going to relax in bed today.' I kind of take it easy.”
Braxton also admitted that lupus has made it difficult for her to entertain a crowd. She explained, "That's the toughest part, when I have to perform. So often, when it's like that, it's a lot of, 'You sing!' to the audience, you know. They kind of help me out a little bit without realizing it.”
"Even if I can't perform, I still figure it out. Sometimes I look back [at] that evening [and] I go, 'How did I get through that?'” the 48-year-old added.
Toni's tour is set to kick off Saturday in Oakland.
