Get a Look Inside Countess Luann de Lesseps' Hamptons Home
Living the life of luxury, "Real Housewives of New York” star Luann de Lesseps gave Closer Weekly a look into her Hamptons home for this week's issue.
The four-bedroom, three-bath home was love at first sight for her. “I've always wanted to live on the water, so this felt like my dream house.” The home is situated on the upper cove of Long Island's beautiful Sag Harbor.
“There's a pretty famous interior decorator who lives around the corner, Steven Gambrel, and I've always loved his house,” she revealed. “So when I walked onto the property, I could visualize a life here. I thought, I can move from my house in [nearby] Sagaponack and be happy.”
For those into renovation, she has one key piece of advice. “Before you renovate, it's good to move into a house first to figure out how you want to live in it.”
While updating her 19th-century home, she made sure to not forget about the outside patio. “I wanted it to feel like an extension of the kitchen, so I usually leave the French doors open… I set up a nice sitting area and spend a lot of time there in the summer.”
While in Sag Harbor, you can't forget about transportation. The countess made sure she had the perfect vehicle for getting around. “I have a little boat in the back. I've never had one, so it's a whole different lifestyle. Sailing around to restaurants is really fun — and the views make it that much more amazing!”
