‘This Is Us’ Cast Shares Most Memorable Fan Reactions

On Monday, “Extra's” AJ Calloway spoke the cast of “This is Us” at the NBCUniversal Upfront presentation in NYC, where they reflected on the most memorable reactions to their show.
Every week, the show garners a wide range of reactions. Star Chrissy Metz revealed her most memorable reactions are "when I meet people, strangers in bathrooms, or people I never would have ever spoken to, and they relate to the stories. It happens every day and it's very, very beautiful... A woman said, 'You saved my daughter's life,' and I was like, 'What?' It's really special when people share such deep, dark secrets.”
Justin Hartley, who plays Chrissy's brother Kevin on the show, said, “Someone told me once that they called their dad. That they hadn't talked to their dad in years. (They) watched the show and called their dad... That's beyond a television show. That's incredible.”
Mandy Moore discussed the fan reaction to the episode where her husband, played by Milo Ventimiglia, dies. Mandy told AJ, “After the Super Bowl episode, people were so kind… moved by the show. It really felt like an actual death, that somebody really did pass away.”
Susan Kelechi Watson, who stars as the wife of Sterling K. Brown's character Randall, commented, “I get a lot of people who physically reach out and grab me (and say) 'I love you' or grab you. Sometimes people will scream and things like that... I had somebody crying in the bathroom talking about the show... I've had people interviewing me cry... A lot of people ask me if I'll help them propose to their fiancé!”
