Cause of Kevin Hart’s Car Crash Revealed
The cause of Kevin Hart's Labor Day car crash has been revealed.
The star was a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when the vehicle veered off the road and into a ditch off Mulholland Drive in the Malibu Hills. His friend Jared Black was behind the wheel, while Black's fiancée Rebecca Broxterman was a fellow passenger.
Law enforcement now tells TMZ that sudden acceleration caused the accident. They believe Black hit the gas and lost control. The sources say it was driver error and not a mechanical malfunction.
It was also noted that Hart, Black and Broxterman were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, Hart's lawyer Andrew Brettler tells the site that Kevin has “nothing but love for Jared” and is wishing “him and Rebecca a speedy recovery.” Black suffered major injuries, while Broxterman incurred only minor pain, TMZ reports.

It is a big step for the star. Kevin suffered three spinal fractures — two in the thoracic section and one in the lumbar — according to TMZ. He underwent surgery within a day of the accident to have the fractures fused.
He later spent time recovering in a rehabilitation facility before returning home.
