John Legend Brands Donald Trump a 'Racist'
In a blunt exchange with Donald Trump Jr., Grammy winner John Legend has flatly labeled presidential candidate Donald Trump a "racist," People magazine reports.
When Trump Jr. vented on Twitter about the chaos surrounding his father's canceled rally in Chicago yesterday, blaming the "participation medal/micro aggression generation" and suggesting that the event's protesters had no idea what they were even protesting, Legend swung back:
"I think they were protesting your racist father. This isn't complicated."
.@DonaldJTrumpJr I think they were protesting your racist father. This isn't complicated.

In response to a flurry of attacks over his statement, many of them questioning Legend's intelligence and asserting that he was the real racist, Legend shot back, "the Donalds and I graduated from the same University, funny enough," and "Yes, Trump trolls. I'm the real racist." He also linked to a 2015 Daily Beast article that claims Trump Sr.'s early businesses deliberately blocked black people from being able to rent apartments, branding their applications with a "C" for "colored."
For his part, Trump Jr. chalked up the events surrounding the rally to his father's political opponents "because they know [my father] is the only one that can beat Hillary!"
