'The Bachelor' Finale! Who Did Peter Weber Choose?
Did Peter Weber choose Madison or Hannah Ann? We finally have the answer after a wild “Bachelor” finale!
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Technically, Pete ended up with Madison in the end, but there was a lot of drama getting there.
On part one of the finale, which aired Monday, Madison left, leaving only Hannah Ann.
Peter popped the question, and Hannah Ann said yes! All seemed well, until they met up in L.A. awhile later. That's when she learned he actually gave his “heart to two people" and broke off the engagement.
"I want so badly to be able to give you everything, give you my entire heart, because that's what you do to me and that's everything you deserve, and I can't do that. I'm so sorry," he told her.
Hannah Ann told him, "You took away from me my first engagement. You took that away from me, because I trusted you, and that's what you continued to ask me to do."
She ultimately told him, “I'm going to get my life back on track now, where it originally was before. You know, I'm strong, and I've been my own rock throughout this, and you don't have to worry about me."
Fast-forward to the live finale show: Hannah Ann slammed him, saying, “Peter, we've been through a lot together, and I should have really picked up on the first red flag you gave to me was when you wanted to reach out to Hannah Brown to find closure with her. So really, looking back on it, our engagement involved three women: Me, you still being in love with Madison and proposing to me, and you needing closure with Hannah Brown. That's three women involved in our engagement that I was completely blindsided to.”
As Pete and Hannah Ann's story closed, fans learned that Chris Harrison flew to Alabama to find out if Madison still had feelings for Peter. It turns out... she did!
At some point afterward, Peter and Madison met up poolside in L.A.
She told Peter, “Chris came and told me what happened and the situation. I just knew I wanted to see you. I fell for you and that never changed and I have been struggling with it ever since I got home until now, and what I, like, felt for you in Australia, literally, like, it has not gone away at all. I think in a way I was hoping that it would and I would get closure and I just never did. I know that I still have so much love in my heart for you.”
He told her, “I made a million and one mistakes, but, like, I know that I fell in love with you, and I know that I said that I messed up… and I'm so sorry for that. But, like, I just haven't fallen out of love with you. Obviously we hurt both of each other like crazy, and obviously you're here right now for a reason.”
She answered, “We can't change the past, you know? And I know it was so difficult for you.”
Peter asked, “So what do we do?” From there, the show cut to the live feed.
Madison came out onstage and took a seat next to Peter, and when Chris asked if they wanted to give their relationship a real shot, Weber answered, “I think that I know how we both feel about each other, and I feel like taking it one step at a time — one day at a time is possibly the smartest.”
Not everyone was on board with that plan, though, especially Peter's mom Barb, who didn't mince words when Chris Harrison asked for her thoughts.
According to Barb, the Webers felt the love from Hannah Ann right away. In contrast, Barb claimed Madison made them wait three hours for their meeting and also said she wasn't "madly in love" with Peter, nor was she ready to accept a proposal from him.
Madison replied by saying she couldn't change the past and that she had only tried to be true to herself.
Barb doubled down. "Chris, he's going to have to fail to succeed. That's it," she declared. "All his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it's not going to work."
Peter seemed to plead with his mother, replying, "I am telling you that I love Madison and that should be enough."
Then it was Peter's dad's turn to weigh in. He said it was "telling" that there had been so many obstacles so early on for his son and Madison. "Anybody who is watching the show, again, we saw a lot more than the average person here, would understand that there is so many differences to overcome, and, you know, when you're getting into a relationship, that beginning should be the brightest spot, and it was anything but."
The conversation wrapped up with Madison saying this was something she and Peter should be discussing. Chris Harrison agreed and wished them well.
