The Latest on Funeral Plans for Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds
Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will be laid to rest later this week.
People magazine reports that an “ultra-private service” will be held at Fisher and Reynolds' Beverly Hills compound on Thursday. The following day, the mother and daughter will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, one week after Fisher's autopsy was completed.
TMZ reports that Carrie's body has already been cremated since it was a wish written in her will. Debbie, however, did not want to be cremated and wanted her body to be buried. Rumors are swirling that part of Carrie's ashes may be placed in a coffin and buried next to Debbie's coffin.
Last week, Todd Fisher — Carrie's brother and Debbie's son — chatted about the joint funeral plans on “20/20,” saying they'll be buried “among friends” like Bette Davis and Liberace.
On the heels of their death, a trailer for their documentary "Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds" has been released. The documentary, which airs January 7 at 8 p.m. on HBO, was shot between 2014-2015 and also contains footage of Fisher with her dying father Eddie Fisher from 2010. Watch.
