Viola Davis on Women in Hollywood: 'People Are Tired of Being Silenced'
“Extra's” Mario Lopez caught up with Viola Davis at the 2018 Academy Awards.
The star, who was on hand to present the award for Best Supporting Actor, opened up about the #TIMESUP and #MeToo movements, saying that she has “always spoken up for women.”
Davis told Mario, "People are tired of being silenced. Women are going to be standing more in solidarity with each other. They are going to be speaking the truth. I have to say, I'm not a part of any movement. It's a part of my life. I've always spoken up for women. It's not a hashtag for me."
On a lighter note, Viola and her husband Julius Tennon pulled a question from our "Extra" mystery bowl. They had to answer, “What food would you like to eat right now?”
