Many were quick to point out that the invite didn't include the couple's full names. Instead of Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle, the invite lists their names as His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle.
Amber Harrison, head of Weddings at Shutterfly recently told Huffington Post, "Traditionally 'Miss' is not only used for unmarried women, but for never-married women. 'Ms.' is the title used when marital status is unknown or if a woman has been previously married.”
The Palace took to Twitter to share the coveted cards and explain how they were made.
Harry and Meghan enlisted Barnard Westwood to make the invite, which features "the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink.”
The palace went on to reveal, “Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship, printed all of the invitations in a process known as die stamping, on a machine from the 1930s that she affectionately nicknamed Maude.”
