Rob Lowe Tells 'Stories I Only Tell My Friends'
Actor Rob Lowe joined Mario Lopez at The Grove to talk about his new book, "Stories I Only Tell My Friends," a memoir about his past loves, being sober, and putting his family first. Nearly 30 years after his first big role as in 1983's "The Outsiders," the former Brat Packer revealed the reason why he decided to write a book.
"People have been telling me after dinner with me, or if we go on a trip together... I like to talk, I do have stories and they're like, 'Dude, you gotta write a book!'"
Mario pointed out Lowe's many love affairs, including those with actress Natasha Kinski, Princess Stephanie of Monaco and Demi Moore. Rob warned, "Right now my wife is changing the channel on you." The actor thanked Google for not being able to "escape any of that."
Lowe also talked about Charlie Sheen and his days spent partying and trying to one-up each other. "I realized quickly I couldn't compete with 'The Machine,'" referring to Charlie.
When asked about the infamous 1988 sex tape scandal involving Rob and two women, one of whom was a 16-year-old, Lowe explained, "Back in my day, when I was an unwitting and stupid trailblazer, it was a whole different thing. Now movie stars have them and it's just a different world. Kids are sexting and it's just a different vibe."
