Why Fans Are Obsessing Over New Instagram Pic of Mindy Kaling and Ex-BF B.J. Novak

Exes B.J. Novak and Mindy Kaling have tongues wagging over a new Instagram photo.

The pic was snapped at Mindy's 40th birthday party, and features the actress holding a cake with her picture on it. Meanwhile, B.J. gazes lovingly at his former “Office” co-star.

B.J. posted the photo without any caption, but fans were quick to comment. One person wrote, “I wish someone looked at me like BJ looks at Mindy,” while another fan added, “The way you still look at her though.”

Yet another commenter insisted, “Can you guys get married already?”

B.J. and Mindy played on-again, off-again couple Ryan and Kelly on "The Office." One fan wrote, “I knew Ryan always loved you.”

Meanwhile, Mindy shared her red-hot birthday look on Instagram, along with the drink menu from her party at the San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood. Guests could choose between the “Mindy Mule” (vodka, ginger beer and lime juice) or “Actually, Just a Diet Coke” (Diet Coke, with ice).

Kaling wrote in the caption, “Ringing in 40 with a night of good eats, friends, and a custom drink list!”

Mindy and B.J. dated on and off for years, and are known for sparking reconciliation rumors. They were spotted at a basketball game together in April and attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party in February.

Four years ago, Mindy opened up about her relationship with B.J., telling InStyle, “I will freely admit: My relationship with B.J. Novak is weird as hell. He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend.”
