Why Bobbi Kristina’s Family Is Pushing Away Her Longtime BF Nick Gordon
Is Nick Gordon trying to get his hands on Bobbi Kristina Brown's inheritance?
Whitney Houston's family seems to think so.
Bobbi's aunt, Marion “Pat” Houston, filed a restraining order against the 25-year-old in March 2014. Pat is the executor of Whitney's estate, and claims Nick threatened her after she refused to increase Bobbi Kristina's monthly allowance.
The 21-year-old won't have control of her $12-million inheritance until she turns 35.
A police statement obtained by Daily Mail also claims that Nick was trying to turn Bobbi Kristina against the family.
Pat claimed that Gordon was sending terrorist-like threats her way by posting photos of guns on social media. Authorities dismissed the claims, but did grant the restraining order.
Nick is not allowed within 200 feet of the family, and because of that, he is not allowed at Bobbi Kristina's bedside when the Houstons are there.
Gordon was reportedly in a hospital room scuffle on Saturday and was escorted out by police. It is unclear if he has been able to visit Bobbi Kristina since then.
The couple, who grew up as brother and sister, claimed they married in January 2014. Bobbi Kristina's father, Bobby Brown, says it's not true.
He released a statement on Tuesday via his lawyer, further distancing the family from Nick.
“We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina,” the letter said.
The statement continued, “To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon. We continue to request privacy in this matter. Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time.”
