Nicole Brown Simpson’s Sisters Speak Out: ‘It’s Time to Hear Her Voice’
Nicole Brown Simpson’s sisters are ready to share her story, decades after her murder.
Tanya, 54, Dominique, 59, and Denise, 66, are among the 50 people participating in the upcoming documentary series “The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson,” airing June 1 and 2 on Lifetime.
Ahead of the doc, the women spoke to People magazine about why the 30th anniversary of Nicole’s death was the time to open up.

Tanya added, “She’s not a dead body covered with a white sheet at the bottom of the stairs. That’s not Nicole. We want people to see this beautiful human being.”
She likes to think of her sister “dancing in heaven. That’s what she’s doing.”

View StoryDominique said she sees Nicole in her dreams. “I’ve had lots of dreams about Nic,” she explained. “She’s always in her jeans and a leather jacket, always happy, dancing, social. And she’s always still alive.”
She also recalled how the family told Nicole's children that their mother had died. Nicole shared daughter Sydney and son Justin with ex-husband O.J. Simpson. They were 8 and 5 at the time.
Dominique said her mother Juditha told them the news. "She goes, ‘Mommy's in heaven.’”
From that point forward, Dominque wanted to help shield the children. “I knew that was the role I was supposed to undertake. There was Denise’s son, my son, Sydney and Justin. We played together, ate together, went to the beach together — everything together. It was to help them heal and do things that were fun.”
She insisted, “The things that were being said, they didn’t need to be exposed to any of that."
In 1996, however, the Browns were asked to give the children back to their father.
“It happened Christmas morning," Dominique recalled. "I didn’t think my heart could take it."
Watching the Lifetime doc, the sisters learned what Sydney and Justin endured after they left.
“We found out a lot of things went down in Florida — 911 calls with the kids saying, ‘Daddy, stop,’ their house getting raided, just chaos,” Dominique said.
Giving an update on the kids, who are 38 and 35 now, she said, “They’re young adults with families, and they’re both doing great. Nicole would be so proud.”
Denise also touched on how Nicole’s death sparked change, sharing, “The Violence Against Women Act was passed due to Nicole’s murder. She is the root behind a lot of change. Unfortunately, it took my sister’s life to make it happen.”
Nicole was married to O.J. from 1985 to 1992. On June 12, 1994, Nicole and friend Ron Goldman were found brutally murdered outside her Brentwood home.
O.J. was arrested for the murders, but was acquitted of all criminal charges.
He died in April 2024 following a battle with cancer.
