‘90210’ Cast’s Bittersweet Reunion Without Luke Perry: ‘We Miss Him Greatly’

The cast of “Beverly Hills, 90210” reunited at Upfronts in NYC this week to celebrate the show's return to FOX this summer.

It was bittersweet for the stars, who were missing friend Luke Perry. The 52-year-old was supposed to be joining them for the reboot, but passed away unexpectedly in March.

“Extra's” Renee Bargh spoke with Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris and Tori Spelling, who were thinking about Luke.

Jennie explained, “It's really hard. We miss him greatly and he is with us.”

The castmates are enjoying being back together for the show. Garth described it as “a big reunion," which includes Shannen Doherty who was unable to attend Upfronts.

Tori added, “It like we never missed a beat.” Gabrielle said she never though the show would come back. “When we finished, I think we thought it was finished.”

Tori also set the record straight on rumors her husband Dean McDermott would be playing her husband in the show, saying, “No, I read that online. It's completely scripted, so yes, someone will be playing my husband, but it will not be my actual husband.”

Bargh also talked to actors Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering.

Brian said they had mixed feeling about celebrating the show's return while missing Perry. “We're doing all right, I mean mixed, we're getting through it.”

Austin Green tried to explain the premise of the new series, called "BH90210," which will feature the actors playing themselves as they reunite to make a reboot.

“We're making a reboot of '90210' as ourselves, playing the characters of the show.” Jason added, everything is “super exaggerated.”

Ian admitted he always thought the show would come back. “I always felt that I would probably get another job maybe as a dad one day or a father or grandfather, and you know what maybe '90210' will come back one day.”

Happy to be back for the series, Jason joked, “Nothing's changed at all. Has it?”

The six-part series premieres August 7 on FOX.

Following Luke's passing, “Extra” teamed up with doctors Armand Dorian and Neil Martin to learn more about stroke symptoms, risk factors and new treatment technologies. Watch.
