Keegan-Michael Key’s Epic Reaction to Jordan Peele’s Oscar Win and More
"Extra" was on the red carpet last night at the biggest Oscar parties, and caught up with the stars attending all the bashes.
Keegan-Michael Key's close friend and former “Key & Peele” co-star Jordan Peele won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for “Get Out," but Key wasn't taking any credit for his friend's win.
“Extra's” Tanika Ray asked if he'll get any part of Jordan's Academy Award. Keegan shared, "I get 6.5% of the Oscar. All I did was get the money!” And what did he do when his pal Jordan won? He told Tanika, “I got up on my chair, I screamed for 10 seconds, I hugged Colin Hanks for thirty seconds, and I gave a very deep kiss to my fiancée... It was elation...and tears of joy."
Fresh off her second year presenting the Best Picture Oscar with Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway spoke with Tanika, who asked the movie legend if she immediately said yes when the Oscar producing team asked her to return this year, after last year's snafu with the envelope. Faye said, “No, I thought, 'Why would we go back? Why would we do that?' And then bit by bit, we thought the Academy had a brilliant idea.”
Over at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Party, “Extra's” Terri Seymour caught up with hosts Elton John and David Furnish. How do they feel now that the event is in its 26th year? Elton said, “As long as the disease keeps going, there's a need for raising money, we'll be here, every year, God willing, to raise money for people who desperately need it.”

Terri asked him what to expect on the rebooted “American Idol,” on which he is working with fellow judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. Lionel said, "Even I wasn't expecting this, because we have chemistry. Instead of having this antagonistic group of people on stage fighting with most of each other, we have chemistry. It's Lionel and his two kids! I'm the father of the group. When they open their mouths, I tell them, 'You can't say that on national television!'"
