Sylvester Stallone Reveals Serious Injury on ‘Expendables 3’
With all of the action films he's made in his career, actor Sylvester Stallone is no stranger to on-set injuries, but on the “Expendables” series, he's seeing some of his most difficult bruising.
At a press conference for the upcoming “Expendables 3” in London, the 68-year-old said he had to have a metal plate inserted into his back after a nasty fall while shooting the film.
Stallone, who plays Barney Ross in the series, explained, “I usually grade the quality of the film by the intensity of the injury. In this one I ended up really taking a fall on my back, and ended up having some metal inserted in there, so if I'm squeaky, then it's not my shoes, it's my back!”
While filming the first “Expendables” in 2009, Stallone suffered a hairline fracture and had a metal plate inserted in his neck.
“The Expendables 3,” which also stars action hero heavyweights Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford, kicks into action in theaters August 15.
