The Truth About Céline Dion’s Reported Romance with Backup Dancer Pepe Muñoz
Rumors are swirling that Céline Dion has a new man in her life.
Over a year after her late husband René Angélil died of cancer, Dion, 49, has been linked to backup dancer Pepe Muñoz, 32, who is also an illustrator. Her reps told “Extra” that the reports are not true, saying they are just friends.
The two were recently spotted enjoying the sights of Paris together, and Dion even invited him to go with her to the Giambattista Valli fashion show. At the show, he sat across from Dion so he could sketch some of the fashions on the runway.
Last month, Pepe received a call from Dion's assistant, telling him that the famed singer was looking for a dancer for her tour. As for working with her, Pepe told Vogue, "She's the kind of person [for whom] the day has no schedule, no time, no nothing, so whenever she feels the creativity coming, that's what happens.”
"She makes you feel welcome, like you belong to the family, and like you're part of the group,” he went on. "She's absolutely fearless with her style, her dancing, her performing, and as a person in her clothes."
Munoz praised Dion's recent fashion choices, saying, "She wears the clothes, the clothes don't wear her, and that's super important.”
In April, Dion was not ready to date yet, telling The Sun, "Now it is definitely too soon for me… I am definitely in love with [René], married to him.”
