Jerry Sandusky Scandal: Mother of Alleged Victim Speaks Out
The mother of the boy identified as the first victim in the Penn State sex abuse scandal broke her silence on "Good Morning America," and said her child cried when he saw accused molester Jerry Sandusky on TV.
The former Penn State coach is currently under fire for allegedly molesting eight boys over a 15-year period, and was arrested and charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse. Sandusky recently told NBC's Bob Costas that he did shower with the boys, but is not sexually attracted to them.
The victim's mother, whose identity was kept hidden, expressed her anger that a grown man would have showered with 10-year-old children. "I don't know anybody, anybody... when somebody's like 50, would get in the shower naked with a 10-year-old."
She added, "It sickened me that he would be on TV trying to downplay his charges. And I think it made him look more guilty."
When the mother asked her son why he broke down after seeing Sandusky's image on TV, he replied, "Because I'm afraid he'll go free."
The scandal has sparked outrage among the media, with Rosie O'Donnell Tweeting, "This man makes my blood boil."
Victim 1 is expected to be a star witness against the 67-year-old coach. The boy's mom said, "He's scared, but he's anxious. He's ready, he wants to do it... he wants to put it to rest. He wants him to go to jail and he wants him to pay for what he's done."
