Colton Underwood’s Alleged Text Messages to Cassie Randolph Revealed
After Cassie Randolph filed a restraining order against Colton Underwood, more details are surfacing about their relationship.
In legal documents obtained by "Extra," Randolph cited domestic violence prevention as the reason behind the filing.
The restraining order also included alleged text messages between Randolph and Underwood. In one text from June 27, Colton allegedly wrote to Cassie, “…Because your [sic] a selfish person who isn't ready to be loved. I spent two years loving you the best I could and now I'm sitting here feeling like a fool… You've hurt me beyond words… I've always done nothing but be there for you and you still disrespect me all the time.”
When Cassie wrote, “What did I even do??,” Colton replied, “You hid things from me and been so shady.”
Hours later, Colton allegedly wrote, “I apologize for some of the things I said last night. I'm lost right now. I'm drowning.”
The document also detailed an incident from July 25, when Cassie's friend Caelan visited her apartment and Colton “somehow immediately knew, and obsessively called and sent text messages.” According to the paper, “Ms. Randolph was startled that he knew who was coming in and out of her apartment, and felt like she was being watched. A few days later, Mr. Underwood showed up again at Ms. Randolph's apartment, still upset again about Caelan's visit a few days prior; he proceeded to yell at Ms. Randolph, threatening, 'I am going to keep you accountable.'”
After the incident, Colton allegedly sent a text message saying, “I'm just sitting in bed trying to fall asleep wondering if the woman I'm madly in love with is having a good time with her ex. I have a million questions and all of them I don't know if I want the answers to. My heart hurts a lot right now and I miss my best friend, my lover and the one person I never expected to lose.”
Cassie replied to the text, writing, “Colton I really care about you too. I know going through everything is very hard and sucks. And I appreciate you calling me to talk with me. But I also won't want to make it into something it isn't. You know that us trusting each other and being cool with each other, and caring about each other is still there. I don't think that is something that should be able to flip flop so easily. And also, it's a different road we are navigating now that we aren't used to. Don't be upset, you know I care about you so much. You know that.”
In another text from July 30, Cassie stressed her desire to keep it amicable after their split, adding, “I care about you, but this continued anger and drama cycle has got to stop. It is not healthy. You do you, I'll do me. That doesn't. mean we don't care and aren't kind. Just means we have to let go a bit in order to make things healthier.”
Randolph also accuses Underwood of sending anonymous text messages to her and to himself, pretending to be a victim of a stalker. The filing stated, “Mr. Underwood also used alias phone numbers to anonymously send harassing text messages at all hours of the day to Ms. Randolph and to her friends. Mr. Underwood also sent harassing text messages to himself pretending to also be a victim of the anonymous stalker… He later admitted to being the one sending the messages.”
In one text from the anonymous number to Cassie, it read, “You like playing games huh? Let's play some games then.”
Cassie accuses Colton of “stalking and harassment,” claiming that he tracked her whereabouts by taping a tracking device to her car.
Along with pics of the tracking device, the filing stated, “Due to the harassing text messages that evidence knowledge of Ms. Randolph's whereabouts on multiple occasions, Ms. Randolph and her family thought that someone might be tracking her and decided to check Ms. Randolph's car for a tracker. Ms. Randolph and her family discovered a tile tracking device taped to the bottom of the back bumper of her car. The discovery of the device was shocking and caused Ms. Randolph severe distress; she immediately became concerned about a stalker.”
“Fearful for her safety, Ms. Randolph contacted the police and a private investigator to help her figure out who had placed the tracking device on her car and was sending the messages stalking her whereabouts,” the filing continued. “Two days later, on August 21, 2020, Ms. Randolph confronted Mr. Underwood… Mr. Underwood admitted that he was the one who put the tracker on her car and has been the one sending text messages to her, her friends and himself.”
The papers also mention Colton showing up uninvited to her apartment in Los Angeles and her parents' Huntington Beach home. On June 27, Cassie visited her family home, where “Mr. Underwood was seen outside the residence… Ms. Randolph's brother and two of his friends saw Mr. Underwood in the alley outside Ms. Randolph's bedroom window at two in the morning.” The filing said, “When he was confronted, Mr. Underwood sent harassing text messages to Randolph, Ms. Randolph's best friend, Linda Salas, and Ms. Randolph's younger brother. Since then, Mr. Underwood has been seen by Ms. Randolph's family, neighbors and friends of the family hanging around Ms. Randolph's family home in Huntington Beach and on the street near the home.”
As for his alleged unwelcomed visits to her L.A. apartment, the document claimed, “Mr. Underwood admitted to his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend (who is also Ms. Randolph's friend) that he goes on multiple walks a day to Ms. Randolph's apartment building. Ms. Randolph and several of her friends have seen him around Ms. Randolph's apartment from her balcony.”
Cassie requested that the restraining order be enforced before Underwood is back in Los Angeles after a visit to Denver. The filing said, “Ms. Randolph fears for her safety and the safety of her family and friends and wants to ensure that the harassment and stalking behavior cease when he returns to Los Angeles in the coming days.”
A judge has approved the restraining order, which means Colton must stay 100 yards away from Cassie at all times.
A hearing is set for October 6, the expiration date of the restraining order.
Colton and Cassie called it quits in May after two years of dating.
“Extra's” own resident Bachelor expert Rachel Lindsay weighed in on the drama. She told Billy Bush, “It is surprising… It's shocking anytime you hear someone is getting a restraining order filed against them... I don't think we've had anything like this in Bachelor Nation before.”
“Extra” has reached out to Cassie and Colton. While we haven't heard back from Cassie, Colton's rep said, “We can't comment at this time as it is a legal matter.”
