Michael Phelps Dishes on Diaper Duty, and If He Would Ever Do 'Dancing with the Stars'
Michael Phelps is now the most decorated Olympian of all time. Fresh from winning five more gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics and announcing his retirement, the swimmer chatted with "Extra's" Charissa Thompson as he stepped out with fiancée Nicole and son Boomer for a "Call of Duty" event in Los Angeles.
The Olympian was still on cloud nine, saying this Olympics was "the best way to finish," calling his historic 23 gold medals "the cherry on top of the cake." Phelps is still taking it all in, adding, "It's hard to wrap my mind around what I have been able to accomplish." He added, "It was cool the other day getting to look at every medal together," not revealing where he is keeping them all, saying, "I'm not telling."
The 31-year-old is looking forward to more time with his family, and opened up about diaper duty for his 3-month-old son. "Some of them are disgusting to change, but yeah I've got the hang of it." The swimmer is also busy planning his wedding with Nicole. "We have a big year ahead of us and it's been a big year already, but it's exciting and fun."
Does Michael plan to follow in the dancing steps of fellow swimmer Ryan Locthe and head to the ballroom for "Dancing with the Stars"? Don't count on it, the swimmer says, "I don't think so. I'm not a good dancer." Though Phelps may not have much fun on the dance floor, it seems like he has fun playing "Call of Duty," saying, "It's basically the only game I played for like six years."
